SCALE Fest 2026: The Complete Guide to Barcelona
Dates, venue, tickets, agenda highlights and insider tips for SCALE Fest 2026 in Barcelona

On 24–25 October 2026, short-term rental property managers from around the world will meet at the World Trade Center Barcelona for two days of education, networking, debate and a few things you probably wouldn’t normally expect to find at an industry conference.
SCALE Fest is part conference, part festival. 100% SCALE.
Built exclusively for professional short-term rental property managers and operators managing 10 or more units, SCALE Fest brings the international SCALE community together in the city where SCALE’s global story began.
If you’re considering joining us in Barcelona, here’s what you need to know.
First things first: what exactly is SCALE Fest?
SCALE Fest takes the education and operator-led learning SCALE is known for and builds a much bigger experience around it.
Across the main event on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October, expect global CEO panels, operator scaling journeys, hands-on workshops, roundtable discussions, debates, AI and Book Direct strategies, guest experience, brand building, regulation, revenue, operations and plenty more.
But SCALE Fest isn’t designed around sitting in an auditorium for two days.
Peer-to-peer matchmaking, morning wellness sessions, Women in STR networking, live music, food, evening events and the SCALE Fest Fringe all form part of the weekend.
And for those arriving early, it all starts on Friday 23 October.
Three days in Barcelona
While the main SCALE Fest programme runs across Saturday and Sunday, there is plenty happening before the doors officially open.
Friday 23 October: The Fringe
Arrive early and you can extend your SCALE Fest experience with a programme of Fringe events, including masterclass training, the Women’s Vacation Rental European Conference (WVREC), The Exit Door and the SCALE Fest welcome evening.
The Exit Door brings operators, buyers, sellers and investors together for two hours dedicated to something the STR industry rarely talks about openly: what happens when you want to sell, acquire or merge a short-term rental business.
Saturday 24 October: SCALE Fest Day One
The main show begins. The programme runs across the auditorium, workshops, roundtable discussions and exhibitor spaces, with networking built into the day rather than squeezed into the gaps.
When the educational programme finishes, the conversations don’t. Post-show drinks lead into the Saturday night SCALE Fest party.
Sunday 25 October: SCALE Fest Day Two
A second full day of education, workshops, discussions and networking.
SCALE Fest is designed as a two-day conference, rather than two standalone event days, so plan to stay for the full weekend.
What makes the SCALE Fest agenda different?
SCALE has always taken a fairly simple approach to conference content: the stage should be earned.
Speakers are selected on merit, partners are not guaranteed speaking slots and sales pitches from the stage are prohibited.
The majority of speakers are operators, founders and CEOs working in the industry, joined by association leaders and specialists with something genuinely useful to bring to the conversation.
The agenda is also shaped by the SCALE community, combining topics chosen by registered attendees with some of the highest-rated sessions and themes from previous SCALE events.
And not everything looks like a traditional conference session.
Face-Off Sessions
Two experts. One topic. Opposing positions.
Rather than another panel where everyone politely agrees with one another, the Face-Off format puts opposing arguments on stage before opening the microphone to the audience.
You decide who made the stronger case.
The STRyder Cup
Who does short-term rentals better: the US or Europe?
The STRyder Cup brings operators from both sides of the Atlantic together to compare how they approach the same challenges, from operations and technology to guests, growth and regulation.
There may be some competitive spirit involved.
Workshops and roundtables
Some subjects need more than 30 minutes and a PowerPoint.
Workshops create smaller, more focused environments for practical learning, while roundtables give operators the opportunity to discuss specific business challenges directly with their peers.
Networking, without leaving it to chance
Ask a regular SCALE attendee what makes the events different and there’s a good chance they’ll talk about the people they met.
For SCALE Fest, we’ve taken that a step further.
Every attendee ticket is reserved for a professional property manager or operator managing 10+ units. That changes the dynamic of the room: the people sitting next to you are dealing with many of the same operational, commercial and growth challenges you are.
For Connection and Festival Pass holders, peer-to-peer matchmaking begins before Barcelona.
Attendees are matched according to their business profile, goals and superpowers, with meetings confirmed in advance. Instead of arriving with a delegate list and hoping to find the right people, you can arrive with relevant conversations already in your calendar.
Small-group roundtables provide another way to connect around specific topics, while the SCALE dashboard allows attendees to browse the attendee list, message other operators and arrange meetings before the event.
Then there are the evening events.
Because, as anyone who has been to SCALE before will tell you, sometimes the conversation that changes your business happens nowhere near the stage.
Coming to SCALE for the first time?
You won’t be the only one.
The easiest way to approach SCALE Fest is not to try to do everything.
Take a look at the agenda before you arrive and identify the sessions most relevant to where your business is now and where you want it to go next. If your pass includes matchmaking, complete your business profile properly: better information means more relevant matches.
Use the attendee directory before the event rather than waiting until you’re standing in the World Trade Center with a coffee in your hand.
And leave some room in your schedule.
The session you hadn’t planned to attend, the operator you happen to sit next to at lunch or the conversation that continues after a Face-Off can end up being one of the most useful parts of the weekend.
Which SCALE Fest ticket do I need?
There are three SCALE Fest ticket levels, depending on how you want to experience the event.
The Education Pass is designed for operators primarily coming for the two-day educational programme, with access to the auditorium, workshops, exhibition area, speaker slides and event socials.
The Connection Pass adds the elements designed for deeper networking and peer learning, including roundtables, peer-to-peer matchmaking, lunches and recordings of auditorium sessions.
The Festival Pass is the complete SCALE Fest experience, adding VIP elements across the weekend, including the private Friday welcome evening with speakers, VIP Lounge access and The Exit Door.
Festival Pass availability is limited.
For current prices and availability, check the SCALE Fest ticket page.
And then there’s Barcelona
There are worse places to spend an October weekend.
SCALE Fest takes place at the World Trade Center Barcelona, directly on the waterfront at the foot of Las Ramblas.
The Gothic Quarter and El Born are within walking distance, Barceloneta is around ten minutes away and Drassanes metro station connects the venue with the rest of the city.
Barcelona El Prat Airport has direct connections across Europe, North America and the Middle East, while high-speed rail connects Barcelona with Madrid in under three hours.
If you’re attending any of the Friday Fringe events, plan to arrive on Thursday evening or Friday morning.
And don’t leave accommodation until the last minute. October remains a busy month in Barcelona.
SCALE Fest 2026: Frequently Asked Questions

SCALE Fest attendee tickets are exclusively available to professional short-term rental property managers and operators managing 10 or more units. Technology companies and service providers participate through SCALE Fest’s partner and sponsor programme rather than purchasing operator attendee tickets.
Is SCALE Fest only for European property managers?
No. SCALE Fest is an international event, bringing together operators from Europe, the Americas, Africa, the Middle East and beyond. You’ll find businesses at very different stages too, from growing independent operators to some of the largest professional STR management companies in the world.
When and where is SCALE Fest 2026?
The main SCALE Fest conference takes place on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October 2026 at the World Trade Center Barcelona, Moll de Barcelona, 08039 Barcelona, Spain. Fringe events begin on Friday 23 October.
What happens on Friday 23 October?
Friday is SCALE Fest Fringe Day. The programme includes masterclass training, the Women’s Vacation Rental European Conference (WVREC), The Exit Door and a private welcome networking evening for Festival Pass holders and speakers. Some Fringe events require separate registration and places are limited.
What is peer-to-peer matchmaking?
Connection and Festival Pass holders can be matched with other operators before SCALE Fest based on factors including their business profile, goals and superpowers. Matches are made before the event so attendees can arrive in Barcelona with relevant peer conversations already scheduled.
Will SCALE Fest sessions be recorded?
Full video recordings of auditorium sessions are available after the event to Connection and Festival Pass holders. All SCALE Fest attendees receive speaker slides.
Can I transfer my ticket if I can’t attend?
Full refunds are available within seven days of purchase. After that point, tickets can be transferred to a colleague.
When should I book my accommodation?
As early as possible. October remains a popular time to visit Barcelona and accommodation close to the World Trade Center and surrounding waterfront neighbourhoods can book quickly.
I’ve never attended SCALE before. Is SCALE Fest suitable for first-timers?
Absolutely. The SCALE Fest Event Guide includes a dedicated first-timer section covering how the event works, who you’ll meet, how to prepare and how to make the most of your time in Barcelona.
