Catalonia’s government and the Comuns party have agreed a plan to convert hotels, offices, and commercial premises into protected housing (VPO), and dwellings created under the scheme would be permanently barred from short-term or seasonal rental, the pact announced on 24 July 2026 shows (El País). A final parliamentary vote is expected in autumn 2026.
