Clark County commissioners voted 5-0 on August 18, 2026 to approve an ordinance that makes short-term rental platforms responsible for unlicensed listings (Las Vegas Sun, August 18, 2026). Platforms must verify that an owner holds a county business license before processing any booking, and any unlicensed listing must be made unbookable. An effective date has not been published; county staff are working with platforms on compliance timelines.
