France Committee Backs No Amortization on 2027 STR Buys
A French finance-committee amendment would end tax amortization on tourist furnished rentals bought from 1 January 2027, on top of a 1.5% cap already in the budget bill. Nothing is voted yet.
Regulation Radar
France’s finance committee has voted to end amortization on tourist furnished rentals you buy from 1 January 2027, if the measure survives. On 8 October 2026 the Commission des finances, de l’économie générale et du contrôle budgétaire of the Assemblée nationale adopted amendment I-CF776 to article 7 of the 2027 budget bill (PLF 2027, n° 3210). Article 7 as filed already caps amortization on existing tourist lets at 1.5%, up to €5,000 a year per tax household. Nothing is law. The floor debate is listed for Tuesday 13 October 2026 (Assemblée nationale, dossier PLF 2027).
