Italy: Proportional Tourism Tax Sanctions From 2027
The Decreto Fisco Locale approved on 4 August 2026 replaces fixed punitive penalties with proportional sanctions for tourism tax, IMU, and TARI from January 2027. STR operators who underpaid Italy's contributo di soggiorno can use the newly extended voluntary correction mechanism to fix errors before enforcement escalates.
