Mallorca’s opposition is asking whether the island should cut its short-term rental plaza cap or rewrite its zoning plan. Més per Mallorca filed 32 questions with the Consell de Mallorca on 19 August, demanding the data behind inactive licences, inspections, and carrying capacity before any decision (Diario de Mallorca, 19 Aug 2026). Nothing changes for operators yet. If the Consell acts, a revised ceiling or PIAT would tighten an already-frozen market further.
