UAE Mandatory e-Invoicing Starts July 2027 for STR Operators
VAT-registered short-term rental businesses in the UAE face a July 2027 deadline to switch from PDF invoices to structured XML e-invoices transmitted through an accredited service provider. Penalties start at AED 5,000 per month for delays.
Regulation Radar
Every VAT-registered short-term rental operator in the UAE must switch from PDF and paper invoices to structured electronic invoices transmitted through an FTA-accredited service provider. The deadline for most STR businesses is July 1, 2027. After that date, invoices issued outside the electronic system are not valid for VAT purposes, and non-compliance triggers penalties of up to AED 5,000 per month.
