A French court has held a property management company co-responsible for illegal short-term rentals for the first time. On 10 July 2026, the Tribunal Judiciaire de Paris ordered a conciergerie and a property owner to each pay €220,000 (a combined €440,000) for operating four unauthorised tourist rentals in the capital (Le Figaro, July 2026). The ruling means any conciergerie managing STRs in France now faces direct financial liability alongside the owner.
