The Asamblea de Madrid approved a “nueva Ley de Ordenación del Turismo” on 22 October 2026, with PP and Vox voting in favour. For a Madrid short-term-rental operator, the practical answer today is: do not change anything yet. The Comunidad de Madrid’s own summary does not mention viviendas de uso turístico (VUT), and as of 27 October 2026 we found no BOCM publication, no entry-into-force date and no text of the approved law.
